About Us

Meet the Lafontaine arts council

We are a group of volunteers that fundraise and apply for grants to support arts in the community and in education.

Our history

The LaFontaine Arts Council formed in the early 1970’s and became incorporated in 1978.  By 1990 the Council began Arts in Education programming in Huntington County Schools. The series became a vital asset for schools by providing exposure to arts and culture. The board of directors have continued to work to bring programming to the schools while also supporting arts in the community.

Our mission

At LaFontaine Arts Council, our mission is to promote and present the arts to the entire community with a special emphasis on providing yearly in-school arts in education programming for all Huntington County students. The Council is dedicated to continuing to offer culturally rich and artistic opportunities important to the quality of life in Huntington County.

"A big part of my job is creating a safe space for teens to come and spend time in the library, this includes maintaining a collection of various teen materials, developing programs for them to attend, and creating services for them, such as the Teen Comfort Cabinet."
